Mow like nobody's watching...

Now I have laughed in my life. I have even laughed to tears. Once you see these pictures you will see why this sight rated pretty high on my laughter chart. First, let me set the stage:

Abigail's room contains all of her and Rachel's clothes. Therefore, when Abbey goes down for a nap, there's no going back in there to change outfits or even grab a new pair of "panties" if need be. Normally this is not an issue. Today it was. :) Rachel had a HUGE smoothie for lunch. What happens when a person of only 32 lbs drinks that much liquid? Yes, the number of "potty" dances increases. Dramatically. Rachel was not accustomed to this frequency and ended up wetting herself. She seemed surprised actually which started the laughter. Then, realizing that Abigail was sleeping and we couldn't go get her a change of clothes, I did what any trained girl scout would do. I improvised. I looked around and what did I see? Abigail's #3 diaper on the table. I figured, Rachel is pretty skinny...I'll try it on.      A-ha! It fit! Sort of. Good enough. So Dave decides he wants to mow the yard and wash the cars. Why not take Rachel with you?! The laughter is growing at this point. He looks at me as if on medication and says, "Are you serious?" He finally agrees and tells her to put her shoes on. What shoes does she choose? Her lovely rain boots. Again, more laughter and the camera is invited to the situation. :) So here is Daddy with Rachel mowing the yard and washing the car...and darn proud of herself. :)

Are you laughing yet? It's a good thing my pants are not in Abigail's room is all I have to say. :)

Cookies

Many of you have known about my, actually, Abigail's struggle with food. When I introduced Rachel to regular food it wasn't an issue. That girl gobbled up whatever I put in front of her! Abigail was a whole new experience. From the first introduction to cereal, to more hearty baby foods, she absolutely hated them all. She would make this face that I can imagine anyone having if they were eating a whole fist full of okra. (Sorry all my southern friends and family. I just don't "do" okra.) I ended up forcing her to eat by squishing her mouth open which, if you can imagine, made every mealtime an absolute horror. I took her to an occupational therapist who indicated that she has a "textural" problem. Great. Her ideas were to give her any type of food that she likes, along with those she doesn't. Put them on her tray and let her figure it out at her own pace. Okay. Seemed like a waste of food to me, since I had done this before and most of the food ended up on the floor. But okay, she said it would work so I'll give it the college try again. :) Today was great! I put apples, bananas, crackers, Macaroni and cheese, and a pear on her tray. I  had to show her what to do with them all, but eventually she started eating them! Yeah Abigail! So after lunch, I broke open some girl scout cookies and both her and Rachel pipped up like they hadn't eaten in years! I stuck Abigail in her chair once more and willingly gave her a cookie. She loved it! And I don't even care that it was made of nothing but sugar. :) My girl has found her taste buds!!! :)

Mmmmmmmmmmm. Cookie.

Cheese!!!
