Many of you have known about my, actually, Abigail's struggle with food. When I introduced Rachel to regular food it wasn't an issue. That girl gobbled up whatever I put in front of her! Abigail was a whole new experience. From the first introduction to cereal, to more hearty baby foods, she absolutely hated them all. She would make this face that I can imagine anyone having if they were eating a whole fist full of okra. (Sorry all my southern friends and family. I just don't "do" okra.) I ended up forcing her to eat by squishing her mouth open which, if you can imagine, made every mealtime an absolute horror. I took her to an occupational therapist who indicated that she has a "textural" problem. Great. Her ideas were to give her any type of food that she likes, along with those she doesn't. Put them on her tray and let her figure it out at her own pace. Okay. Seemed like a waste of food to me, since I had done this before and most of the food ended up on the floor. But okay, she said it would work so I'll give it the college try again. :) Today was great! I put apples, bananas, crackers, Macaroni and cheese, and a pear on her tray. I had to show her what to do with them all, but eventually she started eating them! Yeah Abigail! So after lunch, I broke open some girl scout cookies and both her and Rachel pipped up like they hadn't eaten in years! I stuck Abigail in her chair once more and willingly gave her a cookie. She loved it! And I don't even care that it was made of nothing but sugar. :) My girl has found her taste buds!!! :)

Mmmmmmmmmmm. Cookie.
Cheese!!!
I love it! Anything that ends with a cookie is my kind of meal!!
